Hi! I'm Laura Wilde. You're probably here because you've got that niggling feeling your child could be getting more out of their schooling. Well, I'm here to help turn that possibility into a reality.
I’ve parented three incredibly unique kids and worked with hundreds of families. Parenting is hands-down the most demanding gig out there—emotionally charged, totally unpaid, and full of "Am I doing enough?" “Are they prepared for what’s next?” moments. Can we agree?
Armed with a PhD. in intrinsic motivation and thirty years working to improve public education, I started Boldschoolers to equip your family with the tools to build resilience, adaptability, and a lifelong passion for learning—essential for today's ever-changing world.
Imagine turning your time with your child into powerful learning moments. What if these everyday interactions could make them better learners and give them fundamental, valuable life skills they aren't getting in their current schooling?
My goal is to create a zone of safety for us all to get honest about the struggles and victories of helping our kids learn at their best. I want to be an encouraging whisperer on your shoulder, reminding you that you’ve got this.

About Me
As a parent, looking back, armed with what I know now, I’d do things differently. There was my eldest, who, despite his dyslexia, was a high achiever across the board. My middle child, blessed with his unique neurodiversity, often pushed me and everyone else to the absolute breaking point…and then there’s my youngest, a true artist but also a squirrel in the park, with her attention skittering from tree to tree.
Kids are all different, so cookie-cutter answers don't cut it. Whether learning inside or outside of school, when I encouraged my kids to improve their skills at home, no matter what we tried, I often felt like I was keeping my head above water, ending most days overwhelmed and defeated by unmet needs—usually my own.
Every day, we'd spin on that hamster wheel—packed schedules and emotional chaos, bouncing from endless schoolwork to total neglect of anything school—and I'd tell myself, "Surely, they're getting what they need from all the effort." But honestly, preparing my kids wasn't what I'd hoped for. It turns out my kids' feelings about school were pretty standard. Did you know a recent survey showed 75% of students report feeling tired, bored, stressed, and anxious about school? Has your child had that experience of learning?
Who knows your child better than you? Who’s more invested in their future? Combining my PhD insights on intrinsic motivation with real-world experience, I designed Boldschoolers to help your family not only survive but thrive.
If I knew then what I know now, life would have been much more joyful.
