Flow is being completely involved in an activity for its own sake. The ego falls away. Time flies. Every action, movement, and thought follows inevitably from the previous one, like playing jazz. Your whole being is involved, and you’re using your skills to the utmost. —Mihalyi Csikszentmihalyi
Over time, I’ve heard from many of you—parents deeply invested in helping your kids love learning—who also want to experience more flow in your own lives. That’s why I’m launching a sister publication, Your Flow Zone, dedicated to helping adults find and cultivate flow in everyday life.
Why Flow?
Flow leads to well-being, and well-being leads to flow.
Yet, we’re facing a crisis of well-being. Fifty-two percent of Americans say mental health is the most significant issue we face, and globally, the numbers are even higher.1 Stress, distraction, and burnout have become the norm—but they don’t have to be.
The good news? We each have the ability to shape a more joyful, meaningful life. There’s no magic formula, but we can create the conditions for more flow—individually and together.
What You’ll Find in Your Flow Zone
This new publication is a space for exploring how flow shows up in everyday life—and how we can cultivate more of it. Through research, stories, and practical insights, we’ll dive into:
The science of flow and why it matters
How to spot flow in your daily life (it’s closer than you think!)
Simple ways to invite more flow into work, creativity, and play
What blocks flow—and how to move through it
What This Means for Your Inbox
And don’t worry—you won’t be inundated with emails. I’ll be splitting my monthly posts between Boldschoolers…Learn in Flow and Your Flow Zone, so subscribing just means you’ll receive the flow-focused content meant for you.
My Belief
Flow isn’t just for elite athletes, artists, or musicians—it’s for everyone. It’s in deep conversations, playing games with friends, solving problems, or getting lost in a great book. It’s in the moments when we’re fully present, engaged, and alive.
If you’re curious about bringing more flow into your life, I’d love for you to join me.
Let’s find more flow, together.
This is a separate publication—so if you’re interested, you’ll need to subscribe!
(it won’t come to your inbox unless you opt in!)
